ARMADILLOCON 2025 is bringing an amazing slate of SF, fantasy and horror writers, artists and makers, and we are back again at the Austin Southpark Hotel.

We will be convening at an Austin classic hotel, the Southpark. Remember the pool scene in Miss Congeniality? That was at the Southpark.
Your Room at the Southpark Helps the Convention
If you are travelling to the convention, please book your room as part of the ARMADILLOCON room block at the Southpark. Filling the room block is vital to our keeping membership rates low.

If you book as part of the ARMADILLOCON room block, overnight parking is included as part of that rate.

WHAT IS ARMADILLOCON?
ARMADILLOCON is one of the longest-running community events in Austin.
It’s a fan-run, fan-generated convention celebrating Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror and other Weird stories and art. We’ve been helping put the Weird in Austin reading and writing since 1979.
This year’s convention will include over 200 events for fans and writers – interviews, panel discussions, readings, scheduled gaming, signings, maker sessions, the Meet the Pros Party, a legendary Bar Con, the Writers’ Workshop for new and developing writers, an Art Show, a Dealers’ Room where you can shop and talk to other fans, and more!
WHEN AND WHERE IS ARMADILLOCON?
ARMADILLOCON will be held September 12-14, 2025, returning to the Austin Southpark Hotel– an Austin classic venue with an over 40-year history.

WHEN AND WHERE CAN I GET A BADGE?
Regular ARMADILLOCON membership badges are available now online!
ARMADILLOCON WRITERS’ WORKSHOP memberships are also available online!
WHEN DOES THE EVENT START AND END?
ARMADILLOCON programming will take place from approximately 4 PM – 11 PM on Friday, 10 AM to 11 PM on Saturday, and 10 AM to 4 PM on Sunday.
The ARMADILLOCON WRITERS’ WORKSHOP will take place during the day on Friday, starting at 9 AM and ending at about 4 PM.
A detailed schedule will be released later.
SHOULD I RECEIVE AN EMAIL CONFIRMING MY BADGE PURCHASE?
Yes. If you do not see your order confirmation in your inbox, make sure to check your junk/spam folder. If you have not received your confirmation, please contact us ASAP so we can help straighten things out.
I WANT TO GIVE MY TICKET TO SOMEONE ELSE, HOW DO I DO THAT?
If you cannot attend and want to give your ticket to someone else, please contact us.
CAN I LEAVE ARMADILLOCON ONCE I ENTER?
Yes. Just keep your badge. You need to be wearing your badge when you are participating in ArmadilloCon events.
ARE THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS?
ARMADILLOCON is an ALL AGES event. Some panel discussions might not be appropriate for all ages and families, though. Parental discretion is advised.
ARMADILLOCON includes a MEET THE PROS PARTY on Friday night. That will include a cash bar with both alcoholic and nonalcoholic options. Be prepared to show ID if you plan to purchase and consume alcohol.
ARMADILLOCON is also known for its BAR CON– people gathering to socialize at the Southpark’s bar area. The socializing is great, no drink required. Be prepared to show ID if you plan to purchase and consume alcohol.
WHERE CAN I PARK?
The Austin Southpark does not currently charge for day parking.
If you book as part of the ARMADILLOCON room block, overnight parking is included as part of that rate.
IS ARMADILLOCON ADA ACCESSIBLE?
Yes. We aim to make ARMADILLOCON a welcoming event for a variety of people. See our ACCESSIBILITY page for details.
WHAT ABOUT SAFETY AND MEDICAL NEEDS?
The closest hospitals with emergency room services are:

We welcome additional participation! There are a bunch of things you might want to do!
Start by filling out the VOLUNTEER FORM!
Other ways you might want to be involved:
- ADVERTISE in the Program Book: Please consider this. Your ad helps pay for putting a schedule and souvenir book in everyone’s hands.
- ART SHOW: ArmadilloCon’s Art Show includes work by both professionals and fans. Submit your work!
- DEALERS’ ROOM: Want to be a vendor in our Dealers’ Room? Apply today!
- FAN TABLE: Want to have a Fan Table? It would live in our Dealers’ Room? Apply today!
- LITERATURE TABLE: Writers, artist and fan groups are welcome to place flyers, cards, bookmarks and such on the Literature Tabe. It will be just outside the Dealers’ Room.
- JOIN OR DONATE TO FACT: F.A.C.T. is the group of fans that work on the convention before and after the convention happens. Year round, actually. We could always use more interested folks to keep this going!
