If you can spare an hour or two to help us make this happen, we\u2019d really love your help!\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Review <a href=\"#kinds-of-help\" data-type=\"internal\" data-id=\"#kinds-of-help\">task and position descriptions<\/a> below.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete this <a href=\"#volunteerform\">quick form<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"kinds-of-help\">Kinds of Help Wanted Include:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Advertising<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reach out to businesses and publishers to solicit ads for the souvenir\/program book. This can include those who have participated in the past (we have a list), and new people (get creative!).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Dealers Room<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reach out to businesses and publishers that might want to have booths in our Dealers Room.  This can include those who have participated in the past (we have a list), and new people (get creative!).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communicate with the Treasurer to get people invoiced. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Gift Baskets<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Within a given budget, put together welcome gift baskets\/bags for headline guests.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Guest Liaison<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assist with travel arrangements, including airport pickup and drop-off of key guests. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Hospitality Suite Assistant<\/strong>s<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Restock snacks, drinks, napkins, cups, disposable cutlery, hand sanitizer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clean up and restock.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Load-in\/Load Out<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We need a small crew to help load in and load out Art Show materials to go from storage to the convention via a trailer. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Merch <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Design and order a convention t-shirt, and possibly a poster and\/or stickers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Newsletter<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use existing tools (MailPoet) to send out a newsletter to our subscribers. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Program Book Layout<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use Adobe InDesign to arrange materials for the printed program book.  We provide the Adobe subscription and template.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Program Operations (\u201cOps\u201d)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make sure that the schedule posted at the door is correct.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clean up\/set up presentation area between program items.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>See that the stage is correctly set up for the participants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure the panel begins and ends on time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Respond to any problems that arise during the panel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Get things ready for the person who is managing the next item.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check first floor lounge area for neatness, and straighten if needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Publicity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Write, design and post publicity messages on our social media accounts to publicize the convention and the doings of our guests. We use an easy-to-learn tool, Adobe Express (subscription provided).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Registration\/Information Desk<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Before the convention, work on design for this year&#8217;s badge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare and assemble packets for attendees. (before con)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Verify ID and issue packets for pre-registered individuals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Issue at-door registrations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage sales of convention t-shirts, other gear.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Field queries from attendees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact the appropriate people to address needs or problems that arise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restock any hand-outs.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Post printed schedules each morning. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Treasurer Assistant<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Help track expenses. Assist with monthly reports, including the final report in October. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Website<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The website could use improvement, don&#8217;t you think?
