By day Jess Nevins is a college librarian in suburban Houston. By night he writes articles, chapters, and books like THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF FANTASTIC VICTORIANA (2005), THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF PULP HEROES (2017), THE EVOLUTION OF THE COSTUMED AVENGER: THE 4,000-YEAR HISTORY OF THE SUPERHERO (2017), and HORROR FICTION IN THE 20TH CENTURY: EXPLORING LITERATURE’S MOST CHILLING GENRE (2020). His most recent projects are: a roleplaying game about the Viking invasion of English, THE FURY OF THE NORTHMEN (out later this year), a roleplaying game set in Mesopotamia in 670 BCE, THE WOLF ON THE FOLD (out 2026, probably); and a novel about the faery attempt to take over England in 1649, COLD IRON AND CONSPIRACIE. He lives with his wife and son in Tomball, Texas.
