Devon Foster is appearing at ArmadilloCon 2024!
Raised traveling between disparate homes in Hawaii and Texas, Devon draws upon her mixed heritage – finding inspiration to tell both narrative and documentary stories. Her 2019 short film, about ecological threats, was screened during SXSW and awarded Best Short Film by the Rainforest Partnership.
Across hundreds of small towns in Texas, she interviewed rural communities for documentary television. In partnership with the Department of Agriculture, she bought a platform to underrepresented farmers and traditional craft makers.
Devon studied filmmaking as an undergraduate at Texas State University, where she received her BS in Digital Media Production. In her personal work, she is unearthing stories of great women that overcome adversity – from women’s health activists to breast cancer survivors.
