Gary Villareal is coming to ArmadilloCon! Gary Villareal graduated from the Department of Visualization at Texas A&M University, and has worked for more than 5 years in the film and game industry.
Born and raised in a small Texas town, I like to describe myself as a little hippy, a lil hood, smoked in some old mesquite wood. I’ve drawn on and off since I could remember, but in my 20’s I grew a passion for concept design. I’m currently based in Los Angeles working as a concept artist for the VFX and Game Industry. Although I prefer traditional art, I love learning new mediums to express ideas in different ways to keep my creativity fresh. Some may describe my work as spiritual and multicultural, but I typically like bouncing around many subject matters to express myself. I often get inspiration by personal experiences, music, different cultures along with a curious mindset. Along with asking the question, “What if” to push my ideas one step further.
I’ve been featured in 3dTotal, ImagineFX issue 183, VoyageLA and worked on projects for Method Studios, Method EXP, Dreamscape Immersive and Super Bit Machine.
