ArmadilloCon 2020 Will Be Virtual!

No In-Person Gathering in 2020 ArmadilloCon 2020 will be entirely virtual this year. Our primary concern is keeping readers and writers safe. Due to concerns surrounding in-person gatherings in light of SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19, we have cancelled plans for our annual in-person gathering.

We put the decision off as long as we could, and bit our nails as we watched forecasts and learned more about the pandemic. As with many late summer conventions, we hoped for a while that the pandemic would ease up in time to allow for in-person gatherings by end of summer. It now seems overwhelmingly likely that large in-person gatherings will continue to be inadvisable well into fall and likely into winter as well.

Refunds/Credits If you purchased a membership, Dealers’ Room space, or Art Show space, we will contact you (or have already contacted you) to arrange a refund (or to allow you to leave it as credit for 2021, if you prefer).

We will so miss our annual gathering. We are already making plans for an in-person convention in August 2021!

We Will Still Be Celebrating a Wide Range of SFF Books & Art & Fandom this August! Now more than ever, we are a community of fans connected by our love of great stories of many kinds, our love of art, and our joy in sharing with others who appreciate those things! We are especially passionate about the amazing, wonderful community of regional writers and readers that are part of our local SFF community. That won’t go away, so we are going to offer online, free events this August. It will be an experiment, but we think it will be fun, and we hope you will connect with us in this new way.

Stay Tuned! We will have more announcements coming soon!
